Design Development

The Design Development Stage is the first part of the process for all projects, this stage is broken into the following steps.
Here, we either meet in person or online depending on certain factors, we discuss what it is you want to achieve, the project budget and talk about different options that might be applicable to your situation. Our main goal from this meeting is to better understand your lifestyle, family needs, design preferences and space requirements to ensure we design according to what is important to you.
After we have gathered the required information, we will prepare a detailed quote which itemises inclusions in our scope of works and clearly identifies things that are not included so there is no guessing or grey areas.
If you are happy with the quote, we then go back into information gathering mode. We arrange a convenient time to complete a full measure of the existing home and chat about any things that might have come up or changed since our initial meeting.
Now the fun begins, we start putting pen to paper and developing the initial concepts of what will eventually become your new or updated home.
When the concept design is finalised we meet once again, this time the design is presented. We take the time to discuss all the aspects of what is being presented and gauge your initial reaction to the concepts but then leave plans with you to review in your own time. After this we wait, we wait until you have had how ever much time you feel necessary to provide accurate feedback. Some people are on the phone to us that day or the following, some people take a couple of weeks, this timeframe is up to you.
If there are things you would like to change or an option you would like to investigate this is when that happens. We update the concept design and present again when the amendments are made.
When you are happy with the design, we sign-off on the Concept and this then ends Stage 1 Design Development.
